How to apply for Federal Jobs

Navy Region Japan Applying for Jobs
 

 (Local Hire)

Review the list of openings, decide which jobs you are interested in, and follow the instructions given. You may apply for most jobs with the Optional Application for Federal Employment (OF 612), or any other written format you choose.

Check title of position/opening/and closing date

o        Name

o        SSN

o        Address

o        Home phone/Work phone

o        Original Signature/date submitted

 

Notes

If education is a requirement or is being substituted for experience,"College transcript(s)" must be attached.

If positions require typing, please ensure appropriate blank is filled out.

Non-U.S. citizens can only be considered for non-sensitive positions.
 

The following need to be attached to application

 

Applicant (Not Currently Working)

 

o        Copy of sponsor's orders and Family Entry Approval / Letter of Employment.

o        Applicant Questionnaire / Military Spouse/Family Member Supplement form

o        Race & national origin identification

o        Self identification of handicap (SF 256)

o        Pre-Appointment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration (at least 18 years old, but are not yet 26 years old)

 

 

Currently Working As Federal/MWR/NEX Employee

o        Copy of sponsor’s orders and Family Entry Approval / Letter of Employment.

o        GS: Latest SF50 (Notification of Personnel Actions)

o        NEX/MWR: Personnel actions

o        Latest performance appraisal

o        Applicant Questionnaire / Military Spouse/Family Member Supplement form

o        NAF applicants form

o        Pre-Appointment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration (at least 18 years old, but are not yet 26 years old)

 

 

Claiming 5PT Veteran's Preference

 

DD214 (Release or discharge from active duty)

 

Claiming 10PT Veteran's Preference

 

o        DD214 (Release or discharge from active duty)

o        SF15 (Application for 10-point veteran preference)

o        Letter from veteran’s affairs (Dated within the last year)

                Or

o        Separation orders

o        List of campaign and expedition medals (If no DD214)
