CFAY RELIGIOUS SERVICES DEPARTMENT
The Chapel of Hope is the largest religious program in the U.S. Navy. It is a multi-faith community serving over 26,000 personnel and family members who work and reside in Yokosuka and Ikego military housing areas as well as many military families and individuals who live off-base in the Japanese community. Ministry and care of people lie at the heart of who we are, and what we do every day. We are dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, fellowship, and education.
The Chapel of Hope offers several opportunities for worship services, sacramental and pastoral ministries, children and youth ministries, spiritual music, community outreach, humanitarian service, and religious education.
To schedule an appointment with a chaplain, either visit the Chapel during normal working hours or give us a call at the number listed below. We also offer pastoral counseling to individuals, couples, single Sailors, family members as well as crisis intervention. Service Members, dependents, government employees, and retirees and their dependents are permitted to use chaplain counseling services.
We welcome the opportunity to introduce you to a faith community which best suits your needs. Please see our schedule of religious services consisting of Roman Catholic, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, and a multitude of Protestant fellowships including Contemporary Protestant, Gospel Praise, International Christian Fellowship, Seventh-Day Adventist and other services. We are eager to assist those of all faiths and denominations find their desired worship service at CFAY, at off-base houses of worship, or even establishing new services on-base as trained and certified religious lay leaders or civilian volunteer worship providers.
