Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka Public Affairs Office supports public affairs policies and programs:

Control news releases, press conferences, and interviews of significance
Controls the use of Navy-produced material for screen television, radio, or print media; distribute information and participate in internal audience programs
Liaison with Japanese and American media representatives covering Yokosuka Naval Base-related stories and events
Manages the installation Community Relations program
Operates and programs the base commander’s access television channel, Americable channel 17-04, designed to distribute CFAY Announcements and other public information to base personnel at CFAY-operated facilities
Maintains the command official website, the ad-free website Seahawk-Umitaka a site registered through the U.S. Navy Social Media Directory and Guidance, and social media channels
Produces and distributes the My CFAY Weekly newsletter to Main Base Housing, Ikego Heights Housing, off base housing, and Japanese community members. Subscribe to My CFAY Weekly through the Defense Visual Information Distribution System or Seahawk-Umitaka.
