Mission and Vision

Our Mission

Empower forward deployed U.S. and Allied Forces while providing superior support to their families and our community. Provide for the security of our installation through strength and trust.

Our Vision Statement

Fleet Activities Sasebo defines excellence in shore installation management through strong relationships with the Japanese community, the Japan Self-Defense Forces, and our supported partner commands on base. We provide facilities, resources, and improved services for forward deployed naval forces in order to support mission success.

Guiding Tenets

'Integrity' Open and honest communication up and down the chain of command and across the installation. Be accountable for yourself and your team. Make honest mistakes, but learn from them. Never be afraid to fail; it means you are improving yourself and the command.

'Respect' Treat everyone with dignity and respect. Show consideration for their views and choices; work with care and compassion; demonstrate genuine empathy and sympathy. Honor and respect Japanese culture and laws. Show courtesy and respect to the citizens of our host nation.

'Ownership' Take pride in what you do. Take care of yourself, your equipment, and each other. Learn to recognize what is outside of our standards. Every Sailor and civilian is empowered to say if something is not right. Have the courage to say it out loud and be heard. Take the initiative to bring about positive results.
