U.S. Navy Support Facility, Diego Garcia access to Diego Garcia is limited to official visitors and mission-essential personnel only. Personnel travelling to Diego Garcia require country clearance, which is approved by the U.S. Navy Support Facility, Diego Garcia, commanding officer.

Family members are not authorized to travel to Diego Garcia; this includes, but is not limited to dependents and spouses.

At no time is leave travel to Diego Garcia authorized. However, personnel assigned to deployed ships, squadrons, carriers and amphibious groups who are going on leave may transit through Diego Garcia to connect with follow-on flights. No other travel layovers, stopovers, leave or circuitous travel are authorized.
