Safety provides regionalized safety services for Misawa such as explosive safety, traffic safety and off-duty/recreational safety.  They work with the Air Force’s 35 FW Safety on winter awareness briefs, “Tie One On” campaigns, and hazard reporting.  In 2006, the department was awarded the 6th Consecutive CNFJ NAVOSH Award for the Safety Program.  The Safety Department’s mission is to provide occupational safety and health support and services to host, tenant, transient operating forces, and American and Japanese civilian workers, in order to enhance mission readiness, and support civilian communities.  The Safety Department is committed to ensuring every person is provided with a safe working environment and receives proper training and equipment to achieve their daily duties without accidents or injuries.
