Operations

NAF Misawa Operations Department is comprised of two divisions, Flight Support Division and Aircrew Division.

Flight Support Division provides logistical services for all transient Navy and Marine Corps aircraft operating in Northern Japan and operates Misawa’s Navy Air Terminal. Flight Support Division is responsible taxiing, parking and refueling aircraft as well as manifesting passengers, loading and unloading of cargo, and providing equipment support such as aircraft de-icing and power carts.

Aircrew Division consists of pilots and aircrewmen for Misawa’s UC-12F and Aviation Maintenance Administrationmen (AZs). The AZs are responsible for all flight related recordkeeping, including fuel usage and ensure budgetary targets are met. Our aircrew operate throughout the PACOM AOR, providing logistical support for the Navy’s Forward Deployed Forces. In addition, the aircraft routinely supports humanitarian missions such as Pacific Peace Partnership. Detachment sites include Micronesia, Papua New Guinea and the Philippines.
