CMDCM (SW) Michael Kaszubowski

A native of Chicago, Illinois, CMDCM(SW) Kaszubowski completed
Basic Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, and Damage Controllman
“A” School in Treasure Island, San Francisco, California, in 1995.

CMDCM(SW) Kaszubowski’s sea tours include: USS O’BRIEN (DD-975), from January 1996 to March 1998, where he completed two deployments to the Arabian Gulf and earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) pin; USS CUSHING (DD-985), from March 1998 to DEC 2001, where he completed one deployment to the Arabian Gulf and USS GARY (FFG-51), from March 2005 to June 2007, where he served as Engineering Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and Repair Division Leading Chief Petty Officer.  In June 2007, he led his team through a hull swap with USS MCCAMPBELL (DDG-85), and then served onboard from June 2007 to March 2008 as Repair Division Leading Chief Petty Officer.
 
His first shore tour was as Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific High Risk Fire Fighting Instructor from February 2002 to December 2004, where he taught basic firefighting, advanced firefighting, damage control team training, P-100, and the Repair Party Leader course.  There he also qualified as Field Safety Chief and Training Safety Officer.  His second shore tour was as an underway Damage Control Evaluator for Afloat Training Group Western Pacific Detachment, Sasebo, Japan.
 
His first Command Master Chief tour was onboard the USS PATRIOT (MCM-7), from August 2010 to July 2012 where his crew won their 5th consecutive Battle E. His second Command Master Chief tour was onboard USS COWPENS (CG-63), and in JAN 2013 he led his “Battle E” decorated crew through a hull swap with USS ANTIETAM (CG-54).  In 2013, ANTIETAM won the medium afloat command Project Good Neighbor community service award and also another Battle E. His third tour was as the Command Master Chief of Naval Air Station Sigonella stationed in Sigonella, Italy from August 2014 to August 2017. His fourth tour began as the Staff CMC for Commander Seventh Fleet however he was redirected to lead the USS FITZGERALD (DDG-62).  Upon completion of USS FITZGERALD and her return to the United States, he was redirected to stand up Naval Surface Group Western Pacific homeported in Yokosuka, Japan. His 5th CMC tour was as the Command Master Chief of Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific in Pearl Harbor Hawaii.

CMDCM Kaszubowski is currently serving as the Commander Naval Region Japan / Naval Forces Japan CMC located in Yokosuka, Japan.
 
CMDCM Kaszubowski is a graduate the Command Master Chief course, class 76, a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, class 154 and a graduate of the National Defense University’s Keystone class 18-2.  He holds an Associate’s Degree from Central Texas College and is a Master Training Specialist and Afloat Training Specialist. 
 
CMDCM Kaszubowski’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
