Communications

Communications Department (N6) supports Navy-centric communication functions in the northern Japan Area of Responsibility. N6 is divided into two divisions: Ground Electronics Maintenance (GEMD) and Information Systems (ISD).

GEMD supports NAF Misawa's Air-to-Ground and Land Mobile Radio functions, base telephone communications, and Navy CCTV activities.

ISD implements and maintains the NAF Misawa Information Assurance Program, and also provides limited Information Systems trouble call support.
