Master Chief Petty Officer Lerone F. Gamble, a native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, enlisted in the United States Navy in September 1995. After completing basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL, he completed Seaman Apprenticeship training in December 1995.
Upon graduation, he reported for duty onboard USS KEARSARGE (LHD-3), Norfolk VA. His follow-on tours include AFDM 10 RESOLUTE, Norfolk, VA; USS MONTEREY (CG-61), Norfolk, VA; Navy Information Operations Detachment Chesapeake, VA; Expeditionary Combat Readiness Center, Joint Base Little Creek, VA; USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73) Yokosuka, Japan; Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group, Suitland, MD; USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN-76), Yokosuka, Japan; Navy Information Operations Command, Honolulu, HI; Commander United States Pacific Fleet, Honolulu HI; USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD-44), Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek/Fort Story. Currently, he is serving as the Command Master Chief of Naval Support Activity Diego Garcia.
Master Chief Gamble is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course, and the Major Command Master Chief course.
Master Chief Gamble’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various service and campaign medals. Master Chief Gamble has earned the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Insignia, Enlisted Surface Warfare Insignia, and Enlisted Information Warfare Insignia.
