Master Chief Chadwell, a native of Hawthorne, Nevada reported to RTC Great Lakes, Illinois in January 2001 and began his career as an Intelligence Specialist.
His assignments include duty with Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, USS JOHN C STENNIS (CVN 74), and selection to Naval Special Warfare Development Group where he supported Joint Task Forces ISO Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. He served as the Intelligence Directorate Leading Chief Petty Officer at US Naval Forces Europe, US Naval Forces Africa, and US SIXTH Fleet. Additionally, he served as the Intelligence Department Leading Chief Petty Officer in USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70). He was selected to the Command Senior Enlisted Leader program in 2015 and recently served as Command Master Chief of USS DETROIT (LCS 7) and USS VICKSBURG (CG 69). He is currently serving as the Command Master Chief of Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa.
Master Chief Chadwell is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 170/Blue) and the CMC/COB course. He has earned his Surface Warfare, Information Warfare, Aviation Warfare, Expeditionary Warfare, Naval Parachutist designation. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from American Military University.
His decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
