Lieutenant Commander Lee was born in China and grew up in California. He enlisted in the Navy in November 2005, commissioned as an Ensign and was designated as an Aerospace
Maintenance Duty Officer in April 2009 after completing Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island.
His sea tours include serving as Electronic Attack Squadron 138 Material Control Officer and Maintenance Material Control Officer, while deployed in Iraq and Kuwait in 2011 supporting Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and NEW DAWN. He was assigned as Patrol Squadron 40 Detachment Maintenance Officer (DETMO) and Assistant Maintenance Officer (AMO), deployed in Bahrain in 2012 and Japan in 2014 supporting COMFIFTHFLT and COMSEVENTHFLT. He also served as Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 AMO and DETMO, deployed onboard USS Wasp in 2019 supporting AIT/CERTEX, BALIKATAN, and ESG operations.
His shore tours include serving as Fleet Readiness Center Northwest Quality Control Officer, Safety Officer, and Division Officer from August 2015-July 2017 and as AIMD Iwakuni Assistant Officer in Charge from August 2019-May 2022.
Lieutenant Commander Lee earned a Professional Aviation Maintenance Officer Wings in September 2017. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from Northwestern Polytechnic University. His personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), and various other campaign awards and unit commendations.
