Commander Fleet Activities, Yokosuka provides unparalleled service and support to the Fleet, surpassing every mission requirement in both operational and community areas, while simultaneously maintaining an enviable safety and inspection record.

Base leadership remains committed to improving and revitalizing an aging infrastructure of base facilities, housing and work areas. The Public Works Department oversees numerous projects including a state-of-the-art main gate the headquarters facility in addition to demolition of older sites to make way for future projects.

Commander Fleet Activities, Yokosuka boasts some of the largest and best of everything the Navy has to offer. Over 50 forward-deployed tenant commands in Yokosuka support WESTPAC operating forces, including principle afloat elements of the United States Seventh Fleet and Commander Destroyer Squadron 15, including the only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76).

Commander Fleet Activities, Yokosuka's Quality of Life programs include the biggest Navy hospital in mainland Japan, U.S. Naval Hospital, Yokosuka; the largest Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program within the Department of Defense; the largest revenue producing overseas Navy Exchange complex; the largest Command Religious Program in the Navy; a local branch of the Navy Federal Credit Union; Navy College; Community Bank, DODEA schools, and the list goes on. The approximately 26,000 military and civilian personnel who live and work on board Yokosuka naval base enjoy Quality of Life programs second to none.
