Master Chief Brooks, a native of Fort Payne, AL, enlisted in the United States Navy in September 2001. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, for Apprenticeship Training.
In January of 2002, he reported for duty aboard USS Ponce (LPD-15). His follow on assignments include the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD; USS Essex (LHD-2), Sasebo, Japan; USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6), Sasebo, Japan; Coastal Riverine Group 1, San Diego, CA; USS Ashland (LSD-48), Sasebo, Japan; COMNAVPERSCOM, Millington, TN.
Master Chief Brooks is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 204.
Master Chief Brooks reported to Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan in December 2021.
Master Chief Brooks’ awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards, and various unit and campaign awards.
